Urban Engagement/Latino Cultural center

There were two goals for this group project. First was to foster community engagement with the Latino community in Des Moines. Second, was to promote urban connectivity and walkability along 6th Ave corridor. The plaza is designed to commemorate a historical Teotihuacan façade that was moved from the Latino Cultural Center of Art in Mexico City. The goal was to create a culturally rich space that functioned both as a memorial and urban center for public events. This project was also the capstone to developing construction document drawing standards.
